Psalm 46:10 (NKJV)
10 Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!

Turn on the television for more than three minutes and you will see that the majority of the world has absolutely lost their collective minds… well, at least here in the United States anyway. It honestly is a little much sometimes. It seems time is flying by without any sign of slowing, the political arena is on fire, moral code has been thrown out the window, and a large portion of the population wants the police departments charged with protecting us to be defunded. Wherever you stand on any of those hot button topics, the sad truth is, we have collectively abandoned the thought that God is still in control. Maybe not you because you are reading this fine devotional, but you see where our country is at as soon as you turn on the television and see the first back-biting political ad. As believers, I think we should be standing out even more during times like this, we should be still, knowing that He is God! How do we remain still with the world going crazy around us?
Follow God’s Commandments
Philippians 4:6–7 offers a timely reminder… (6) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; (7) and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Verse six tells us to be anxious for nothing. How difficult is that commandment? I know I look at the world around me and think I could fix that, I am worried about this, I have no clue what “that” even means. Is that where God wants our attention? Absolutely not! Thankfully He offers the answer along with the commandment. We serve a faithful God that does not want us to go into anything blindly. We should be approaching with prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving. He wants us to make our requests known, especially during the crazy times.
He further promises us peace… peace in fact that surpasses all understanding. I may not be the smartest person in the world but I know we could certainly use that heavenly peace.
He Will Be Exalted
The world may be going crazy, but the truth of the matter is that the King is still on His throne, and will remain there for eternity! This is His creation, His world, His plan, and His promise! Psalm 47:8 promises… (8) God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne… Is the world going crazy? A little. Is God still in control? Absolutely!
Closing Thoughts:
Be still, be calm, be assured, God is still in control.
Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)
10 Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
