I Am... Because Of Jesus

Colossians 2:10 (NKJV)

10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

As we continue into the awesome time of year that is Christmas week, we ought to take time to appreciate who we are in Christ Jesus! When we look at ourselves, we can be so overwhelmed by the things we see in the mirror that we fail to acknowledge who we truly are because of Him!

I Am A Child Of God!

Galatians 3:26 reminds us… (26) For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus… Through Christ, we have become children of God. How amazing is that? The Creator has chosen to make us His children. He is ours, and we are His… forever.

I Am Blessed!

Ephesians 1:3 offers us the following… (3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ… Blessed how? With every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Now, I have no idea what those blessings are, but it does not sound bad at all! Blessed are we who have been made children of God!

I Am Precious!

Okay, this one is a little tough to talk about as a dude, but Isaiah 43:4 calls us precious… (4) Since you were precious in My sight, You have been honored, And I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, And people for your life… How does God see us? We are precious in His sight. Any parent knows exactly how God sees us because of how we see our own children, no matter if is is only a few days before Christmas or not. Once again, parents know what I am talking about here.

I Am Strong!

I need the reminder that we find in Philippians 4:13 constantly… (13) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me… We are strong, not because of what we can do, but through Christ who strengthens us. I have tested this verse time and time again, never has He failed me when I have not failed Him!

I Am Created In His Image!

Genesis 1:27 explains… (27) So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them… Oh how I wish to look more and more like Him each day!

I Am His Friend!

I am not sure how Jesus can look at me and think of me as a friend, but we are promised in John 15:15 to be just that… (15) No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you… I really do not deserve to be called His servant, and He goes as far to call us His friend! The One that came from heaven to earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross that I may be forgiven… He calls us friend, how amazing is that!

Closing Thoughts:

When we examine scripture, we find that we are many things through Christ, these are just a few. As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, let’s take time to be thankful for all the things we are because of Him… being especially thankful that we are saved!

Romans 10:9 (NKJV)

9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
