Psalm 27:14 ESV
14 Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord.

Sometimes it’s hard to see that the Lord is still surrounding you and that He is still hearing all your prayers. Waiting for an answer or a word from God may feel like a lifetime. Sometimes it really can be a lifetime! But we know that it is worth it. No matter how long it’s been, we can trust that God knows the perfect timing and the perfect answers (despite what our idea of perfect timing is).
Just think about how many years passed before the promised Messiah showed up in the flesh. It took many many years! And when He did arrive, He wasn’t what some were expecting. They pictured a different answer or a different promise. However, from our point of view now, we can see clearly all that He did for us and how perfect the timing was. God keeps us guessing, but that doesn’t mean we can’t trust Him! We have no need to worry if our prayers will be met or answered. God knows exactly what He’s doing!
While we wait on God to work His miracles in our lives, it can be encouraging to focus on our faith and the prayers that He has already answered for us. I invite you to think of a time when God answered a prayer for you. Maybe He answered it differently than you expected. Maybe it wasn’t the timing you expected either. If you’re up for it, share your story in the comments. Perhaps your experience can encourage someone else today!
Closing Thoughts:
God is all-knowing. He sees things that we may not be able to see and He knows what is best for His children. We can continue to praise Him in the waiting because we know that He takes care of us.
2 Peter 3:9 ESV
9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
